The ASC announce that preparations are well underway for the Shooting Competition of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, which will be held from17 September to 03 October 2026 at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery, Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The Shooting Competition will feature 28 medal events across three disciplines Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun with a total of 168 medals to be awarded, with 56 gold, 56 silver and 56 bronze medals.
STRONG PARTICIPATION FROM ACROSS ASIA
A total of 449 athletes’ entries from 33 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have been recorded, with an impressive 1,095 starts across the shooting events.
The competition will provide a major platform for Asia’s leading shooting athletes to compete for medals across individual, team and mixed team events.
The Shooting Competitions program includes a comprehensive range of Olympic and Asian-level events:
The events include individual, team and mixed team competitions in 10m Air Rifle, 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 10m Air Pistol, 25m Pistol, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, Trap and Skeet.
WORLD - CLASS COMPETITION VENUE
The competitions will take place at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery, which has been prepared to accommodate the requirements of the three shooting disciplines.
The venue includes 60 targets at the 10m Range, 25 targets at the 25m Range, 62 targets at the 50m Range and five Shotgun Ranges, together with a Finals Hall and spectator seating.
The Sport Technical Handbook has also been finalized and approved, covering key areas including the competition schedule, entry policies, technical officials, jury composition, training schedules and venue operations.
TECHNICAL OFFICIALS AND COMPETITIONS REGULATIONS
The Shooting Competition will be conducted in accordance with the current ISSF and ASC Rules and Regulations. The Technical Delegates appointed for the competition are K. S. Henry Indrayani OKA (INA) for Rifle and Pistol and Abdulla Al-Hammadi (QAT) for Shotgun.
The competition format, technical procedures, protests and appeals, equipment requirements and victory ceremonies will follow the applicable ISSF, ASC and OCA regulations.
ASC AND ORGANIZING COMMITTEE WORKING TOGETHER
The ASC, together with the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Organizing Committee, Japan Rifle Shooting Sport Federation and Japan Clay Target Shooting Association, is working very hard to ensure that all technical, operational and venue preparations are completed in accordance with the required international standards.
The Shooting Competition is expected to be an important part of the 20thAsian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, bringing together Asia’s leading shooting athletes in what promises to be a highly competitive and exciting competition.
