The Medical & Anti-Doping Committee of the Asian Shooting Confederation wishes to inform all
affiliated National Shooting Federations and Associations that the World Anti-Doping Agency
(WADA) has published the 2026 Prohibited List, which comes into effect on 1 January 2026.
All member federations are requested to circulate this information among athletes, coaches,
team physicians, physiotherapists, support personnel, and administrators to ensure complete
awareness and compliance with the latest anti-doping regulations.
Purpose of this Circular
The objective of this communication is to:
● Inform all stakeholders about the implementation of the WADA 2026 Prohibited List.
● Reinforce athletes' responsibilities under the World Anti-Doping Code.
● Educate athletes regarding prohibited substances and methods both in-competition and
out-of-competition.
● Promote clean sport and protect the integrity of shooting across Asia.
Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs)
Every athlete and athlete support personnel should be familiar with Anti-Doping Rule Violations,
which include:
Athlete Responsibilities
Every athlete is personally responsible for everything that enters his or her body. Athletes
should:
● Carefully review the WADA 2026 Prohibited List.
● Verify every medication before use.
● Consult qualified sports physicians or anti-doping officials before taking any prescription
or over-the-counter medicine.
● Exercise caution when using nutritional supplements, as contamination may occur.
● Apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) whenever medically indicated before
using prohibited medications.
● Cooperate fully with doping control officers during testing.
● Keep accurate medical records and prescriptions.
In-Competition Prohibited Substances
Athletes should be aware that certain substances are prohibited only during competition,
including:
● Stimulants
● Narcotics
● Cannabinoids
● Glucocorticoids (certain routes of administration)
Athletes must avoid these substances unless permitted through an approved Therapeutic Use
Exemption.
Out-of-Competition Prohibited Substances
Some substances and methods remain prohibited at all times, including:
● Anabolic agents
● Peptide hormones and growth factors
● Hormone and metabolic modulators
● Diuretics and masking agents
● Blood manipulation
● Gene and cell doping
These substances are prohibited regardless of whether an athlete is competing.

Competitive shooting requires exceptional concentration, precision, physical stability, and
mental control. Athletes should be particularly cautious regarding:
