The Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) held its General Assembly meeting via video conference on Friday, 31st October 2025 at 10:00 AM UTC. with the participation of representatives from 31 Asian federations.
H.E. Luciano Rossi, President of the ISSF, and ASC President H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah, along with the members of the ASC Executive Committee, attended the General Assembly in person from the ASC Headquarters in Kuwait.
In his opening speech, The ASC President H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah conveyed his sincere gratitude to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Public Authority for Sport, Kuwait Olympic Committee, and Kuwait Shooting Federation for their strong and continuous support to the ASC.
The ASC President H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah welcomed H.E. Luciano Rossi – ISSF President, to the ASC General Assembly and greatly appreciated the contribution of the ISSF to the Olympic Shooting Sport in general and their cooperation and support to the Asian continent in particular.
The ASC President H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah congratulated the Asian Federations
and athletes for their remarkable achievement in securing the highest number of medals
among all continents at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, emphasizing that Asia now ranks as the number one continent in shooting sport.
The ASC President also conveyed his thanks to the executive committee and Asian
federations for their support and active participation in shooting sport activities.
The ASC Secretary General H.E. Eng. Duaij AlOtaibi presented a detailed report on the
activities carried out over the past two years, including ASC training camps, championships, meetings, and key programs that helped develop athletes and member
federations across the continent. He also presented the auditor’s report for 2023 and 2024.
All reports were unanimously approved by the General Assembly. Delegates were updated on a tentative timetable for distribution of the Asian Quota Places for LA Olympics 2028, which will be executed in 3 Rifle/Pistol events and 3 Shotgun events, combined within 5 Asian Championships during 2027 and 2028.
The General Assembly decided to extend a letter of gratitude and appreciation to His
Highness the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and to the State of Kuwait, in recognition of their valuable support and assistance to the Asian Shooting Confederation
The meeting demonstrated the unity and commitment of Asian shooting sport leaders to continue enhancing the sport and supporting athletes and federations across the region.
