ASC President & Secretary General Attend the Opening Ceremony of ISSF Wold Cup Shotgun 2023 by Kind Invitation from President of African and Egyptian Shooting Federation H.E. Hazim Hosny

By a kind invitation to attend the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Cairo, Egypt opening ceremony from H.E. Hazim Honsy (President of African Shooting Confederation and Egyptian Shooting Federation) to H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah (President of Asian Shooting Confederation) and H.E. Eng. Duaij AlOtaibi (ASC Secretary General and President of Arab Shooting Federation), the ISSF World Cup 2023 kicked off on Wednesday and will be hosted by Egypt from 25 April to 5 May 2023. The ISSF World Cup total participants of more than 450 shooters from 59 countries around the world is going to run for 10 days and will entail shotgun shooting activities.

The ASC President expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the kind hospitality given to him by the Mr. Hazim Hosni and the Egyptian people. Additionally, Sheikh Salman pointed out that the ISSF World Cup is one of the important shooting competitions that will strengthen and hone the skills of Asian member federation athletes, preparing them to Olympic Games Paris 2024. The ASC President have also mentioned that the number of countries participating in this tournament is “very large, about 59 countries,” indicating that most countries of the world seek to be ready before the major tournaments classified to qualify for the Olympics. He praised the distinguished level of the advanced sports fields in the New Administrative Capital, appreciating the role of the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports and the President of the Egyptian Shooting Federation, and their great interest in developing shooting sports in Egypt.

Moreover, the ASC Secretary General Eng. Duaij AlOtaibi also appreciated the kind hopitality and generousity of the Egyptian people. Eng. Duaij confirmed in his statement to ASC that the ISSF World Cup is a major competition to sharpen Asian shooters, hoping to see their outstanding performance and achievements in the competition. Al-Otaibi explained that Asian athletes will participate skeet and trap shooting competitions (men and women), stressing that the tournament represents a strong preparation for Asian shooters to ensure their readiness before the upcoming tournaments and reserve seats for the Olympics.
