As part of the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) development plan for 2023, the 10th Asian Youth Training Camp began today (Saturday 21st January 2023) at Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Olympic Shooting Complex Kuwait. The opening ceremony was attended by ASC President H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah, ASC Secretary General, President of Kuwait Shooting Federation H.E. Duaij AlOtaibi and ASC Manager Mr. Ahmad Nedal AlSayed Omar.
A total of 10 participants is attending the camp that are 3 Coaches and 7 Shooters from 4 Asian federations. The camp is scheduled from 20th Jan to 27th Jan 2023 and instructed by Coach Jan Henrik from Germany. On the 1st day, Mr. Jan Henrik Instructor gave an introduction about the overall expectations of the camp and briefed all participants on the Individual Training Plan. Participants had a brainstorming session and practical shooting at the range. Additionally, this camp will also cover other aspects of learning courses such as Sport Psychology by Dr. Ahmad Alqallaf and Sports Training Science by Dr. Abdullah AlMahmeed, which are both professors from Public Authority of Applied Education and Technology. Also, an Anti-doping course from Kuwait Anti-doping agency will be given to all participants.
The Asian Youth Training Camp is an annual event that takes places on selected shooting sport disciplines. This years training camps are support and promoted by Asian Kuwait fund and International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) development fund. The Asian Shooting Confederation in cooperation with Kuwait Shooting Federation have organized these camps with a sole aim to encourage and improve the skills of youth athletes in Asia to elevate the shooting sport standard to a higher level for all Asian member federations to win more medals for their countries and to uplift the name of the Asia continent in upcoming shooting Championships.
