Postponement of the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (TAIMAGOC):

The Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) received a letter from the National Olympic Committee of Thailand stating that the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games has been postponed from March 2022 to November 2023.

With 5 months left until the opening of the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Bangkok — Chonburi 2021, the TAIMAGOC has made continuing progress in several areas to ensure the successful delivery of the Games. However, considering the ongoing spread of COVID-19, the TAIMAGOC has made several discussions with other relevant public health authorities to plan for and put in place a series of COVID-19 prevention and control measures to guarantee the safety of all athletes and stakeholders.

The TAIMAGOC is concerned about the high number of events that will be held almost back-to-back throughout 2022, which could detract from the competitiveness and value of the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Consequently, based on information provided during the discussion, the TAIMAGOC has concluded that the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games should be proposed to be rescheduled from planned dates to November 2023.
