9TH ARAB Shooting Championships Kuwait - 4th - 11th January 2010

For one last time, the athletes of the Arab Shooting Competition Kuwait 2010 gathered together at the Final Hall at the Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Shooting Complex in Sulaibiya on 10th January 2010 for the Closing Ceremony.

The Closing Ceremony was celebrated with much fanfare for the athletes to enjoy in their newfound friendships. It was a friendly affair with hugs and handshakes shared among the athletes from Arab Shooting Federations. There was - joy, sadness, and a sense of achievement - as the athletes bid farewell to their friends from different countries that had come together in the spirit of sportsmanship and friendship.

The past Eight days had seen 450 athletes and 170 Officials from 16 Arab Shooting Federations which includes 10 Member federations who belong to the Asian Shooting Confederation, compete with the true spirit of Sportsmanship - pursuing sporting excellence with friendship and respect.  The competition was of High International Standard and attended by many high profile guests who include Vice President of (ISSF) International Shooting Sport Federation Mrs. Unni Nicolaysen and also heads of many Arab Shooting Federations.

"Tonight, we celebrate the conclusion of a new beginning. We say farewell to our Arab Brothers.   However, we all have much to look forward to the next challenge which is the Olympic Youth in August 2010 in Singapore and the Olympic Games in London 2012," said H.E. Sheikh Salman Al Sabah, President of Asian Shooting Confederation on behalf of the board members of Asian Shooting Confederation.

In the true spirit of the Shooting Sport of Arab Fraternity, we look forward to in the coming years ahead for the better of Shooting Sport within Asia and Arab Shooting Federations.
